What areas do you serve?

We service all of Oahu, and outer islands by special request. There is a $15-20 travel fee for Westside, Northshore and Windward. We book at a 2 hour minimum. If you have questions about specific locations and minimums please email me at islandgirlfaceart@gmail.com

What are your rates?

Our rates start at $150-175/hr. depending on the service, number of people + time requested. We also have custom packages that include face painting, balloons, glitter tats + henna. What is the booking process? Contract? Deposit?

You have three ways of contacting me: email me at islandgirlfaceart@gmail.com, fill out the inquiry form, or call me directly at 808-757-4148. Please have a rough estimate of guests that will be receiving services, so that we can book the proper amount of time to ensure everyone is served.

Yes, we do require a contract and non-refundable deposit of 50% payable through Debit Card, Credit Card, Paypal, or Venmo. We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. You can pay the full amount at the time you pay the deposit or pay the balance 1 week before the event. Your party is fully confirmed once we received the signed contract and deposit.

How many hours should I book for?

We average about 12-15 faces an hour for face painting and balloon twisting for full face and multi balloon designs. This allows us to paint and twist a range of simple and more complex designs. If you are booking a large event ask about our wikiwiki (speed painting) menu which can service 18-20 guests per hour.

What kind of products do you use?

We only use professional FDA-approved face paints and cosmetic-grade glitter. I also use vegan paints and eco-friendly, biodegradable glitter. We malama ‘aina. We also use organic Henna that is hand-mixed in house. We never use acrylic paint, craft glitter or chemical-based henna as those are not meant to be used on skin and can cause horrible reactions.

Are you insured?

Absolutely! Island Girl Face Art has commercial liability insurance and our COI(Certificate of Insurance) is available upon request.

Can I combine services?

Yes! It is a great to give your guests a variety of fun. We can design customized packages that fit your theme and price point. We also have themed parties such as Princess Parties, Mermaid Parties, Superheroes, Unicorn Parties. We also have Water-Proof face painting and Face/Body Painting with Balloons, Glitter Glam, Temporary Tattoos, Henna and Tarot Readings. You think it and we’ll make the magic happen!!

Is there ever a reason in which you would refuse to paint somebody?

Yes. We cannot paint keiki under the age of 2. We cannot paint anyone with a contagious skin condition or illness such as but not limited to conjunctivitis, cold sores, ukus (lice), chicken pox, ringworm, a contagious cough, and in the presence of a cold or flu or any visible rash or broken skin. I also cannot paint on skin that has open wounds or sores. This is to protect my face painting equipment from contamination which could potentially spread disease to to other guests I paint or glitter. If you are not feeling well please hold off from being painted that day and we will paint you when you are feeling better. We offer stickers for the little ones that are under-the-weather.

How do I remove face and body paint and glitter?

It is very simple to remove face, body paint, and glitter from yourself or loved one.

  1. Gently rub your skin with moisturizing agent such as : cold cream, coconut oil, olive oil, etc.

  2. Loosen up the face paint with your fingers and it will begin to lift off of skin.

  3. Wipe your skin with a tissue or warm damp washcloth or make-up remover wipe.

  4. Use a gentle cleanser to remove the rest.

  5. Rinse.

  6. Pat your face dry.

How do I remove WATER PROOF face and body paint?

  1. You can use make up remover wipes, micellar water.

  2. If you don’t have the above gently rub your skin with moisturizing agent such as : cold cream, coconut oil, olive oil, etc.

  3. Rinse.

  4. Pt your face dry

If there is any staining of the skin, do not panic! Certain highly-pigmented colors can cause a slight discolor, but will come off with the skins natural oil or by addition addition coconut oil or lotion with a cotton ball. Be gentle with your skin and happy cleaning!
